These toys can add to your pool experience

There’s no better way to spend a late spring or early summer afternoon than poolside.

The sound of the water, a slight breeze, and birds chirping in the distance really add to the experience, but pool toys are really where the entertainment value is at.

If you have kids (or even if you don’t) accessories are a great way to kill time and really make the most out of a day spent swimming.

Here’s a look at three items that are sure to take your backyard pool experience to the next level.

Floats. Do you love spending your free time sunbathing? Why not add to the experience and get a tan while on the water? These days there are floats and inflatable rafts of all shapes and sizes. Whether you’re a fan of the classic inflatable pool mattress or opt for a giant swan you really can’t go wrong with a flotation device. If your kids are just starting to swim, it’s a great way to introduce them to the water, too.

Pool Noodles. Simple, flexible, and surprisingly fun, pool noodles are great for imaginary light saber battles, treks into the deep end or pretending you’re an elephant blowing bubbles and spurting water at friends. They’re affordable, can be found at almost any store and are easily replaced. Now that’s something to splash about!

Water guns. Squirt guns, like snowball fights, are guaranteed to bring a smile to you and your children’s faces. Options range from gigantic super soakers to handheld devices that fire weak streams. The end result is always the same, though: fun with the water, and a reprieve from the summer sun.

Whatever you end up adding to your toy collection, it’s sure to make your pool-owning experience even better. Get creative, have fun, and beat the heat! That’s what having a pool is all about.
